Filament showing at the base of my frogspawn

Hi everyone,

I've posted about my frogspawns contracting not too long ago... but I'vce noticed what looks like exposed filament at the base of the frogspawns. It comes and it goes... Has anyone ever encountered this? I just can't pinpoint what is going on with the best effort... My phosphates are close to zero but they have always been like that.

Yikes! This frogspawn has put you through a lot!

My guess would be something irritated it.

That's for you to decide though, because I don't know what is near it/in the tank.

You said it "comes and goes", so my guess would be some coral/sweeper from coral hits it and stings it.

Is it always in the same spot?

That looks the guts of the corals.

And some how it is spilling them from there

Those are mesenterial filaments, they are part of the digestive tract and are released when the coral is irritated or damaged (also released due to feeding and to sting neighbors but that is unlikely in this case) because of the position my guess would be euphyllia eating flatworms or some other pest, give it a dip and see if anything comes off

Also get those phosphates up, euphyllia/fimbriaphyllia need dirtier/nutrient rich water
