This is Poe, an Aptasia eating file fish, who of course doesn't care much for aptasia. He has a nice appetite for certain colors of RFAs.

I did observe him eat a bristle worm last week. I don't really remember his mouth looking like that of a cow then but it caught my attention a few days ago.

A Google image search didn't result in other file fish with such a wide nose. Slightly asymmetrical.

Does this look normal? Could this be from bristles from eating a bristle worm? He's eating fine. If it looks abnormal, is there anything to be done?

Or does he just have an unfortunate snoot? If only I could convince him to nibble on our last few aptasia survivors.

That's common with file fish, one of mine will get like that and then it disappears after a few days. Jay Hemdal once suggested it was a bacterial infection.
