Filter and flow questions

Hey guys,

I was told that 1 fluval aquaclear ac110 is not enough for a 75 gallon tank. I got a 2nd one but 1 is the old model with the 2 year warranty, and 1 is the newer model with the new 5 year warranty. I also have 2 800 gph flow heads inside the tank. Would this create too much flow? Should I take a pump out? I was told that overfiltration is not bad. But under filtering with little flow is bad. The 2 flowheads are aquaneat brand so not adjustable. The tank is currently cycling so no fish yet. I still got a few weeks to go at least. Got a 300w heater with adjustable heats.

Any advice on my equipment?

Sand or no sand? Corals or fish only? Have you added anything (e.g., fish food) to check the flow? Where are the powerheads placed?

80 pounds of live sand, nothing is in the tank it's cycling as per post, i am cycling with ammonia so I didn't think to add fish food, 1 powerhead is on the left side panel, 1 powerhead is on the back side near the right tilted towards the left side. Both HOBs are in the middle of each opening on the back. Edit: also have around 60 to 70 pounds of dry purple rock in there

These are fine; I had two 875s in a 30g hexagon; taking turns rotating the water column clockwise/counter clockwise… two is a 75g will work great for now!

Its not so much too much flow just the wrong type of flow, think of the ocean and how strong that is…when you add corals you will see if they are happy in the flow, you may need to change the direction of the flow or if that is not possible turn it down if it’s directly pointing at the coral but yes always go for as much flow as the corals will accept.

Right now I have a 10g 2 year established fish only tank. With 1 adult firefish, 1 baby white sleeper goby, 1 baby springeri damsel, 2 adult skunk cleaner shrimp, 1 baby emerald crab, and 3 tiny hermit crabs. I'm planning to transfer everything over to new setup once cycled. So I wanted to make sure the equipment wasn't too much for them, it's going to be a big change. Also this one will be fish only as well with the possibility of experimenting with smaller/hardier species of coral.

hob filter is not flow. Flow means pushing water from one side of the tank to the other. You need powerheads or gyres for this. You basically have no flow at all at the moment.
