If i installed an ARM in my sump. does if have to be in its own chamber? Can i remove that wall and place it in what will then be a larger chamber that it shares with the skimmer?

Yes, as long as the water level remains stable, which it should. I run a clarisea 5000 in the same chamber as my skimma.
