Filter socks washed with detergent

So I accidentally left my filter socks in the laundry machine and my dad washed them with some towels and laundry detergent. I just ordered new ones but was wondering could I ever use them again? Give them a lot of rinses and let them aerate for a long time? Or should I toss them?

Wash them 3 times with water or triple rinse them
The first time, put in a cup of salt mixed with a gallon of water. This will kill any suds.
If the soap has a strong scent then you might be out of luck getting that out.

Should I add the saltwater mix to the laundry machine? Also i’m not sure which soap he used I’ll have to wait till the cycle finishes to smell. I’m planning on washing it two more times and then letting them air dry for at least 6 months longer if they still smell. I just don’t want 6 filter socks to go to waste if I could still use them in the future.

Just run them through the wash a couple of times on high temp. No soap or bleach. Will be fine.

I would think a few runs through the washer on hot with no detergents would be fine. IMO, if you are really not sure, just replace them. Sometimes peace of mind is worth more than a few dollars.

I already bought new ones. I’ll keep these for a while after washing them well to make sure all the scent goes away.

Washing is just fine. As mentioned just run a few extra rinse cycles.

I let them air dry for a while. About a week ago all my filter socks where dirty so I used one. No I’ll effect everything looks good.
