So I have been reading and searching and getting all kinds of conflicting answers. Recently got a 32G Biocube and have set it up in my office. planning the filtration for it now. It is currently barebottom, but Im really thinking I want the sand in it, and it has about 20 pounds of live rock in the display portion that was in the sump of the other FOWLR tank for the past 7 months.

With the rock so I really need much in the back filtration area? a bunch of threads ive read talk about using Purigen, matrix, bioballs, chemipure elite.... Just all sorts of stuff. I was origionally thinking just live rock in my Display portion, then crumbled up rock in the back under some filter floss.

I have seen the InTank media baskets and will probably grab one pretty soon and probably the refugium one as well and try Cheto in it...

This tank is mainly for a Blue spotted Toby Puffer that I have. Dude has such a great personality, loves to eat shrimp and clams out of my hand, but with him in my large tank I am very limited with what i can use for a CUC. snails are snacks, shrimp are small meals... lol. I may also try a zoa in this tank when I go lidless and upgrade the light.

so that was a kinda scattered post, but any suggestions? Or am I just over thinking this...

Personally I would just run filter floss and activated carbon to absorb any smells since its in your office. Otherwise I am not a believer in all that other stuff

I just run filter floss and rox carbon from brs but I went with a different media basket I also have some matrix that was added at the start but I don’t really think it was necessary

What media basket did you use?
