Final fish stocking thoughts

I have a nuvo 40 and currently have 6 fish looking to round that out to 7. I have a chalk bass 2 ocellaris a pajama cardinal a ywg paired with a pistol. And a tailspin blenny. I also have a cleaner shrimp and a number of snails and blue leg hermits. I want something colorful but reef safe and simple. Thoughts??

Cleaner goby or firefish would be my vote. Both are low waste and should stay under the radar of the rest.

how about a six lined wrasse? those are beautiful fish, or you might like to consider a firefish goby of some kind. Those are cool too.

how about a six lined wrasse? those are beautiful fish, or you might like to consider a firefish goby of some kind. Those are cool too.

In a 40 a 6 line is gonna be hit or miss, possible but I’d personally not risk it, especially considering there are a few rock dwellers already. Leave the only bullies as the clowns.

Without seeing your rock work there's no way to give good advice. 6 fish in a 40 is already max in my eyes. (My opinion) However without adequate rock and hiding places it's not a good idea. Each fish should be able to have their own safe area to hide and sleep.

You mentioned reef safe. Have you thought about adding some zoa coral frags, or GSPs or some type of soft corals? They can come in many colors and shapes.
