So a while ago I decided to down grade while I found my perfect size tank. I have slowly been adding new upgrades to it and I hope everyone here likes it. A little background I have been reefing for approximately 9 years after I came back from Iraq . A few years ago a buddy of mine gave me his larger tank when he got out of the hobby. I was excited to have it and set it up (without much forethought).

So after a couple of years when everything was going good I decided I didn't care for the look and the way the overflows where set up so I downgraded to start saving money for my next conquest (a 180 72"er)

Well 9 months ago I set up this little beauty and thought I would share it and all its upgrades now. I've always been cautious to post my tank because I know there's a lot of members that have way better .

I'll start posting some pics with descriptions as I go. Thank you all for chiming in with any critique or comments

This Is my custom built led setup utilizing bluefish controller and luxeon leds I custom ordered the heat sink and thermal paste to get the best equipment I could . Had a shop shine the heat sink after I tap and died it for maximum reflection.

Along with the leds I needed the best cooling possible to keep these babies cool and operating 20150825_204702.jpg I utilized a gelid 120mm fan in the center and siliconed it off this fan blows as an intake over the cooling fins of the heatsink. I ordered the non lit 120 so I could drill and insert leds and resistors on the side of the fan to my liking. To counter this massive quiet airflow I installed 2 noctuas to replace the stock fans . I found no need to control these so they go to a single switch with led lighting and marine style (for water protection)

The tank is drilled and a goes down to a custom 16x16x16 sump to fit the stand . I utilize a mag drive pump for a return ,a tunze 9001 for protein skimmer have a fuge section and all of my apex probes and jeheim Jager heaters x2 half Watters so I can notice any failures the apex doesn't catch.

Thanks man . I wish my pics didn't look so purple . But I didn't know how to fade out those royal blue leds with a cell phone camera . The violet leds where key though they make greens and oranges pop like no other.
