Finally got my IM tank! Went with 100 gal EXT. Any tips for moving the actual tank without putting too much stress on it? Thing is a tank.

We just picked it up from the bottom, one on each end and put it on the stand. It’s about 300 lbs but doable for two young guys (or gals) IMG_1732.jpeg
I keep seeing everyone saying suction cups, but don’t want to spend $150 just to pick it up one time 😂

I moved mine with a couple suction cups and 2 people but honestly if you have the stand it’s so tall that it’s much easier to lift from the bottom since you can get more upward force. Just be careful not to crush your fingers.

I had my two sons ( 6’ 2” and 6’ 1”) call two of their friends. It was 400 lbs and had to be moved from the garage to the living room.

We just did not need anything other than 4 hands with two guys. Picked up out of the crate in the garage (all sides of crate removed) then outside up 4 steps through the main door and then 30 feet into the living room and on the stand she went, The dry 100g IM is only 290lbs.

Did the same with a 160g @ 468lbs although this took 4 guys, one on each corner.

I’m certainly not buying suction cups unless my job was to move tanks, then maybe.

Used a moving company that did pianos and sensitive heavy items to move my Cade 1500 peninsula (approximately 180 display) , which is around 30 inches wide and just giving a little over and inch clearance. They did great. I think two able bodied men could place an im 100, if there isn’t a catastrophic mishap. That could happen with a moving crew too though.
