good... no... GREAT stuff there B.
Thanks bud! Still working on it. Looks like the only casualties will be my stunner unfortunately and a blow pops cyphastrea. Maybe they didn't like the hour long iodine dip, But everything else is doing okay.

This is the brightest I seen him a bit. He was hunting its been speculated that males become more vibrant when they hunt
My melanarus has been ticking me off since the move. He's going around tail swipe hunting at the sand kicking it up on rock flowers and the skoly about every 20 minutes.

That's funny.

I have been hanging out by the glass. Unfortunately I've got to catch the scopus. She is not only HBIC of the tank, But is dead set on killing the gem or one spot. The gem is too stupid to back down and is absolutely taking the brunt of the abuse.

Ok so better a few weeks late than ever.

Maybe?

So let's start at the end.

I would consider this tank build out and move to be a Huge personal success.

I've moved tanks, but I've never designed a system from scratch, ordered custom, built the system (needing to learn a few new crafts), then into full implementation. Huge thanks to everyone for constant support and information, laughs and talking me off of ledges.

The move:

Knowing it would take twice as long as I wanted it to, I planned the tank move to start on a Saturday morning.

The work really started a few days prior. I had to mix a lot of saltwater and fresh. Without the ability to store how much I needed, I decided the tank needed to be the storage tank. I made 100g and pumped it to the tank with a small pump and heater.

Next was adding the sand I had accumulated over multiple tear downs. Washed, dried, and clean. Also used a quarter bottle of bac in here that I had laying in the fridge. I knew this wouldn't be everything so I stacked the sand where I intended to stack the rock piles.

Friday night, I pulled the sump and replaced it with a tote under the tank. Just pump and heater + foam in there. Everything else came out for a deep cleaning.

With the sump in it's location, I was able to run wires and hook up all non essential equipment, plus finish the drain plumbing.

Day of, my best friend and reefer got a positive Covid test back so I was in my own. I had a short list, that I wrote every step on, in no particular order . This was instrumental.

At Go time, I moved heater up to the display and sucked off as much water as I wanted to transfer + enough for the temporary coral holding /iodine bath. I used a 100qt cooler with a heater and pump as well.

All loose coral and coral that could detach from the scape was transferred into the cooler. It fit well. I waited until half an hour before I was ready to start adding corals to add a heavy iodine dose.

Now to move in about 75 lbs of choice rock I have had cycling for months out of other tanks, in darkness being fed by my wc water. Then start bringing rock work down.

Now corals and show rocks.

Then once lights went out for the night, 120 fish, QT tangs + Reefer Hippo all dropped in at one time.

I've done some tweaking but no real major changes since day one.

I lost two coral. My big stunner and a cyphastrea. I'm not heartbroken.
