Firefish

Hi just went up to pa last night and brought home a cool little firefish for my 40 gallon I have 2 ocellaris clows and a yellowtail damsel in this tank I was just wondering how long does it generally take for them to warm up to a new home

I got my purple firefish about 3 mouthes ago and it still spends most of its time under or close to the rocks he calls home. iv read this is normal behavior since they shy fish. it tuke about 2 days to come out of the rock and show himself but never far from home.

Lol thats cool I havent seen him at all today but my tank lights dont come in till 1 p.m so hope he shows up so I know he is good

Be careful with that damsel.
The firefish are very skittish so keep an eye out for any aggression I had a firefish with a clown and chromis in a 30 gallon for a while and he was always out and about. I added a yellow watchman goby and the firefish never was seen until I took down the tank.

My firefish hids until feeding time then we see him the rest of the night until lights out.

Yeah this was a stupid buy for my setup my clowns are a mated pair and they fidnt like him he now sleeps with the fishes...... he went over by there little hole they made in the sand and I tried to stop it but they stressed him so bad he died thanks for the info tho I will get one for my 8 gallon nano tho I do like them

I've had my FireFish for 4yrs and can count on both hands how many pics I have of it. Only time it comes out of hiding is to eat or to fight the other one I added, which it killed.

I have 4 purple firefish in my 150gal. They were in QT together dor 3 weeks and added all at the same time about 4 weeks ago. I hardly see them except at feeding time, although one is now out quite a lot (started about a week ago). No signs of aggression to each other or anything else, and nothing else bothers them... Just hardly see them!
