First Acro opinion on heath

Purchased my first Acro 2 weeks ago. About 6” from top of tank in med/high flow. All my other sps are flourishing as well as all lps and softies. Just looking for acro keepers expert opinion. Plan to get more in the near future. Polyps seem to be extended and color looks good to me. Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Looks good. I'm not exactly sure what your asking.
What types of softies are you keeping? You may want to think about running carbon if your not with certain softies.

Just asking the overall opinion of its health. I run carbon chemipure blue. Hammers, acans, zoa, duncan, mushrooms, kenya tree, pulsating xenia and a variety of sps

yes wanted to let it acclimate for a week or 2. Going to dip the plug in 3% peroxide today. Just the plug portion.

You might be better suited to remove it from the plug and attach to a new one if you can.

Looks good but 2 weeks is a blink of the eye in acro time. Don’t add 20 more based on this. Slow and steady wins the race. :)

Absolutely my plan. Been reeling since the 80’s. Many lessons learned along the way! Been building this tank over the last 2 years. Acros my last hurdle!

I started removing frags from the plug and using a magnifying glass to inspect for bugs/eggs BEFORE it touches any water in my system.
Then I using a soft toothbrush and 3% h2o2 to clean anything I see bad or potentially bad.

I'm no expert still new to the Acro game but the left side in the first picture isn't just light colored with polyps (like new growth can be) but light colored (white) without any polyps. In my personal experience the left white area is dead and the rest can be soon to follow (sometimes over night... sometimes over a week or more)...

But don't do anything till the fine experts here advise.

I don't know man, you may need to let that thing go. I'll tell you what, since I am in such a good, giving mood... Everyone has these sticks that are green. Seldom do you see that rare deep bister, and I have a few. I'll let a couple go and trade you for this fella that needs some love. :)

Sadly that looks like a goner. Tissue looks to be sloughing off in random spots which, IMO, is a tell tale sign of RTN. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s completely white by morning. On the other hand, acros are weird so maybe only some of of it will recede and be fine in the long run. I wouldn’t mess with it to be honest. Any more stress is sure to kill it.

Edit: Judging by how clean your rock is on top and that green algae on the bottom, looks like a fresh tank which is not the best environment for acropora.

Let’s hope for the best.

I moved a rock, flipped this one over. The tank is 11ish months old. Working on keep algae out of the tank. Weekly algae vacuum on some rocks(not all of the algae) only about 1-2 gallons and saltwater top up.

My blasto and frogspawn are thriving and some zoas. I have a GSP that o have cut back to nothing and relocated. Trying to make it look nice before I stress everything out.
