First Build Thread: Invertebrate only tank.

Hi everybody! I set up my first "invertebrate only" aquarium in December. I'm not sure how build threads work, so I'm just taking inspiration from other build threads that I've read. Is there an acronym or nickname for invert only systems or will I just have to say this whole thing everytime?:grinning-face-with-sweat:

Anyway, the tank is 5 gallons, and filtration is all mechanical! with an additional pump for improved circulation. All thats in here right now is a couple of macroalgaes, 2 bumblebee snails, and 3 blue legged hermit crabs. But wow are they SMALL. So I'm considering adding one more bumblebee, and a scarlet hermit later on. They're super active, and theres always something to see since the hermits forage all day, and the snails forage all night. For food I place some mysis and brine shrimp on top of the sand bed and cutting all circulation during feedings. I dose 1 capful each of nitrates, and chaetogro weekly. My stock list for when the tank gets older follows: 1 emerald crab, 1 camel shrimp, and mayyybe a tuxedo urchin. I am aware of their needfulness in algaes at all times, so I might add one depending on tank conditions in the future. Regardless, it will be the last inhabitant I will introduce. Expect a lot more macroalgae in the future, and wish me luck! Any advice is greatly appreciated! :D

This is a cool idea! Are you sticking to only shrimp, macro algae, and crabs? Or are you adding corals and/or nems? :)

No corals. But am considering some small nems!

Oh nice, what type of nems? :)

I'm going for a natural look, so curlycue and glass ball nems had stood out to me except that people don't usually sell them. Also my lfs has this small 3inch blackish purple anemone which looked really cool so I'm going to ask about them next time I visit.

I just got a few bumblebee snails myself!

I never knew they existed until I got one as a hitchhiker on some liverock, and ever since then I've wanted to get more haha

Have you considered pom pom crabs, brittle/serpent stars, or a porcelain crab?
