First post, longtime FW, New reefer.

Yeah as my friend @Slocke said those morays are pretty much impossible to find ☹️ but theres a few other morays you can pick. The classic snowflake is a great one! I love mine, shes a cutie! What kind of fish are you looking to keep with the eel? That will help find an eel good for you!
I'm unsure of the fish but the tank is firstly an eel tank so when I settle on the species I'll look into tank mates. I'm going to an expo in a few months and I'm trying to meet an old fish guy friend with a store and lots of friends he plans on meeting up with there, who might be able to source me a golden dwarf. I'm holding out hope but I'll likely go with the one you listed if it doesn't come through.

Welcome to R2R! @Slocke and @littlefoxx are great sources of eel info, as you have already found out.

What type of moray is to the right with its head low? It's beautiful. Would it do OK in the long tank I found that is only 18" deep and wide?

Oh thats Ivar. He is a jeweled moray eel. Part of the dragon eel family. He is 24” long and about 4 inches wide. He might be cramped in that tank to be honest. He really likes his room, he is always stretched out compared to my other eels. Smallest tank I kept him in when he was a baby was a 6 foot 125 gallon. How long is the tank?

Oh okay yeah thats close to the same size mine was before I upgraded. One should be fine! Just no smaller fish with these guys, he is the only eel that has eaten live fish. I have one who hoards a fish if it dies but Ivar will eat blennies, small wrasses, anything that looks like a silverside. He loves silversides! He is a very stunning eel. My first, Ive had him a little over 2 years now!
