My style of reefing, get this ready and try and drain the big tank if it is going to be un attended for a while.

Well I plan to leave it running with heater, movement and ATO. If I drop the weir box on the front that usually lasts a month before the ATO runs dry. Should be able to properly cycle the rock at least ‍♂️

So the little Clown Fish Hotel in the Spec V has cycled and is ready for the pair tomorrow
IMG_20201001_131443.jpg

plus those Zoas of course, and since I use tap water this may cause an issue down the line

So nipped into the office to collect the fishies and the Sump Zoas. An old salt bucket made a nice transport home for them

The Zoas (and Aiptasia) I plopped straight into the tank and was relieved to see opening almost immediately, the clown pair I floated for 20 minutes, made sure the temp and salinity matched and let them go

Any ideas on the names of these Zoas? Thinking something like Fire and Ice?

IMG_20201002_131830.jpg

Water changed and filter floss replaced, took the opportunity to take some Joe's Juice to the Aiptasia. While I was at it noticed some bivalves, one of which is currently working its way around the backwall

right so time to get this thread caught up, i decided that I would leave this live during the multiple lockdowns, I got rid of my livestock at my LFS (for Credit) as I knew i wanted the tank back up and running as soon as it was possible that i could be back in the office monday to friday.

So last week I picked up one of my other dream fish (the other is not a fish but Mantis Shrimp) so I picked up a Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish, meet Swim Shady. He takes Frozen Krill, Lancefish and Mussels. Have not yet tried pellet food but will get around to trying that soon ish

So my LFS has another Dwarf Fuzzy Lionfish in stock and I am putting some serious thought into picking it up, I am fairly sure that the fish in the LFS is a female. I am just thinking about how to introduce after putting her through QT (to make sure she eats and wont be too small when adding)

I miss my dwarf fuzzy, fed by hand once a day and took flake with the other fish, can you section off part of the tank to introduce her into safely?

Yeah that's currently the plan, will QT her in my 15G set up for a few weeks for observation and make sure she takes frozen, then eggcrate divider I think until she grows up. Also will be able to monitor the interactions as well that way
