I have a question about placing reef tanks in patio. Does it run up the electricity bill more so than placing it inside?

Don't glue things to the glass.

Either put the plug on a rock and lean the rock against the back glass, or get a magnetic frag rack and put that on the back glass. Eventually it may start to climb the glass. I've never done it, but I suspect it will have better luck once you have a good coating of coraline on the glass.
My back wall is plastic.. its where all my sump is
