Well, our organization has started out with a bang. This school year is upon us and our first program to 5th graders went great.

The teacher was so excited, she had freshwater in the classroom previously and wanted a saltwater.

Even better timing is we had a local hobbyist looking to donate his 38g Innovative Marine Rimless AIO to a school.

So, on Sept. 7th, we will be helping the teacher and her class set up the new reef tank.

Exciting stuff happening...

It is at Woodlawn Elementary. I ahve been searching for 15 minutes and cannot find the pictures. I am sure I put them somewhere that made sense at the time. Darn if I know where. If I find them I will post.
Last time I heard, they got a pair of clowns. Thanks.

Older picture of the kids and the tank. This was taken in Dec 2017. I have to get some new ones. I am so busy with the kids, I forget to take pictures of video. The different schools we go to have pictures. One day I have to get them downloaded for us. Enjoy. The kids do.

We just began our first after school weekly program. This one is for 15 wks. I go in once a week to work with very at risk kiddos. So far we are having lots of fun. They are super inquisitive and have tons of questions. Only covered what and where reefs are, what types of animals live (food chain), and just covered cuc (specifically sea stars and urchins). After I talk and answer questions, we do a craft or game. The kids are 2nd and 3rd graders.

Yes. Thank goodness for Glad Press and Seal. This stuff is perfect for moving my tank. Seal it up and transport entire thing with full water. It is not too bad. Heavy, but no spillage.
The tank is a Fluval 6g Edge. It only has a 6"x6" hole at the top so it is much easier to keep hands out. Plus the kids get to look down at the corals too. The older ones love that.

Woud you rather start a tank with dry rock or live rock from the ocean?
