First Toad Stool

So I am just starting with Corals and one of the first one I picked up was a toad stool. I notice that he has these little black spots on some of the tips of his tentacles. Are these anything to worry about?

Hes growing pretty quick and besides this seems happy.

The black spots are retracted polyps. It will go away

How long have you had him in the tank?

After the lights have been on awhile they should all open up

I have had him for about a month. The light had just come on when I noticed them ( I am not always home when they first come on) and just looked again and there are only a few left now. Most of them are gone.

I only freaked out about my own toadstool for weeks before it became happy. You live, you learn lol

It was just called a "green" when I bought it a couple years ago. Lots of babies astound the tank now.....

I came home tonight and noticed what looks like algae on my toad stool. I don't really have any growing anywhere else... Why is this?

This is what i experience with my leathers. My Toadstool, green finger, and kenya tree. They will randomly close/shrink for up to a couple weeks. When they open back up they shed this waxy skin and are generally larger than before.
