Hi
I just have a quick question is it normal for a two different fish species to form a bond ??
I do have a One spot foxface and melanurus wrasse that are just inseparable.

If the foxface get spoked and start to hide the wrass will comfort him. The foxface will sleep just above the wrass. They just never move apart .

This happens from time to time, fun to watch ;)

If the fish are added at the same time, they can form attachments and sometime fish pair up for mutual benefit. I added my Blue Star Leopard and my One Spot Foxface together and the Leopard Wrasse definitely wanted to be around the Foxface for the first week or two (as it was getting bullied by my established Melanurus). The Melanurus wanted no part of the Foxface's Venomous Spines and would tend to keep it's distance a bit when the Leopard was around the Foxface. They now spend some time away from each other, but the Leopard, Melanurus, Coral Beauty and Foxface can all be seen swimming around together sometimes now.

I hope it will stay like that it is just so cool looking a them swiming around.

This little purple tang and red line wrasse developed a bond when they were QT'd together. It lasted a long time even in the DT but eventually faded. It was cute and fun while it lasted.
