I wanted to start compiling a list of fish breeders, some of whom you can purchase from, some of whom you cannot. I will try to break them down by breeds, but there will be some companies that cross lines like ORA.
I will need a lot of help on this as I am doing this list for myself to learn from as much as anyone else.

I will post a few, then anyone who knows any other breeders, please let me know and I will add it to the list.

oh, my...you really need to consider the members at MOFIB and Reef Steward...there you will find an avalanche of private hobbyists breeding some of the most obscure marine ornamentals you've ever heard of. Just for starters.

I have spent quite a bit of time on there, it's just awesome. I think breeding fish, anemones etc is so worthwhile, save the reef inhabitants one at a time!
For now I am just sticking to major breeders, I'll see if I can find hobbyists that aren't just trying to get a pair of their fish to breed.

+100 for MOFIB. I have spent alot of time on there, even if you are not planning on breeding and growing out fry, you can learn a ton of information about different species of fish, shrimp and other animals that translates to how you might care for them in your system. Definately worth a visit and some lurking.

I am particularly interested in the Mandarin Gobies, and followed the competition they held to successfully breed them that eventually was shared with ORA to start their breeding program. I am fairly sure I have that right. It was pretty cool either way.
