have a 500 gallon and can not use copper or anything not reef safe. Attached is a photo of one fish that has something that originally I thought was ich but now it doesn’t look like it. A few other fish show this too and in this size tank it’s almost impossible to catch each fish to QT.

Any idea what it is and how to treat? I’ve been using polyp medic.

Looks like you have a few things going on.

Some viral lessons.

Ich and/or Velvet, with secondary bacterial infections. Flukes.

Can you try to upload a few additional pics? The clarity on this photo makes it tough.

Also can you upload pics of the other symptomatic fish?

The fish are likely going to need something that isn't reef safe from what I'm seeing.

I think there’s also a chance you have a very bad fluke infestation.

I’d try Prazi pro first at 2x dose and see what happens to the spots.

In truth, anything other than flukes will need to be treated with copper or CP. Nothing else is going to marginally impact fish that are that negatively affected. You’ll lose your fish.

The reason reef safe meds don’t work is that the parasites are invertebrates, so are coral and many other tank inhabitants. The meds kill inverts. Those that don’t, aren’t effective at killing these parasites.

Pretty hard to take decent photos. Here is another tang.

Just lost a kole tang, the orange shoulder and a wrasse.

I am about to go hypo on the tank. Can I go hypo and also use prazi pro

Theoretically, but velvet is unaffected by. Try prazi first. Hypo is hard to do in a DT, it swings too much..
