This is a newer 55 g which was made by transferring from a 30 g, and some live sand+ rock from store

I checked my parameters
Salinity: 1.023
Temp 77-78 F
Ammonia: 0
Nitrites:0
pH: 8.1
Nitrates: 20ppm

the tank was a bit cloudy from what I see to be a bacteria bloom, I added a uv sterilizer. Everyone is eating. Not sure whats up

How much surface agitation does the tank have? does it have any covers or anything over the tank?

^^ Agree, up the surface agitation and remove the cover (if its a glass cover) if its a mesh or screen cover you're fine :)

Depends on the cause, have you been spraying anything near the tank? , added any treatments or meds?, etc. I would do a large WC

My girlfriend may have sprayed some of her airfreshener in the room, but I dont think it went into the tank.
Treatments not really.

It is a newer tank so my guess is the bloom is from the new fish I transferred from the older tank

I agree, a large water change and adding a bag of carbon to remove potential contaminants should help clear it up.

Thanks, did the water change, will get some new carbon into the filter asap.

Should I keep the UV sterilizer on?

Increase oxygen, even if its with an airstone and bump up salinity one point to 1.024 or even 1.025. If there is uncertainty, do take a water sample to a trusted LFS and have them test your water for verification and comparison of your readings

Thanks! I actually did a partial water change yesterday, popped on my extra HOB filter with some fresh activated carbon, added my UV sterilizer, did a light canister cleaning and bumped up the salinity to 1.024 and things seem to be pretty much fine today. One of the damsels is still breathing a bit heavy but no where near yesterday. Also the UV sterilizer helped with water clarity a lot

Youre off to a likely recovery and improvement !!
