In the process of creating my fish list.

Tank is 150gallon DD

6 Chromis(I know I will end up with probably half that)
1 or pair of Firefish
4 Yellow Head Jawfish
Pair of clowns
Yellow Tang
Pair of Mandarins(eventually)

Anyone see any problems?

All small fish?

Decent sized tank to put mostly nano fish in!

Pair of mandarins may give you trouble..

No wrasses?

True a wrasse would be a good addition, not melanuras though, had one in past. My mandarins were my favorite fish so I always am concerned about multiple fish hammering away at my pod population.

Yes mostly small fish, that may change with time. About the mandarins, kept a pair before and got them eating frozen and breeding. Not a problem.

I would keep firefish in schools - 3-5....it seems to make them last longer and out for you to see....I would suggest against chromis since some will be just as aggressive as damsels IME. You could also probably get away with another tang without issue (diff body shape though)

My target mandarin in my 125 is pretty well fed and she's with 7 leopard wrasses... The pods breed in the sump!

Even though firefish are social fish in the wild, almost always in captivity it ends up as only a pr or even one. They relatively quickly begin eliminating the others.

While this case shows it is possible to sustain a mandarin with pod picking wrasses, it often does not work out for the mandarin. If the mandarin is your favorite or most important fish I would skip wrasses.

The stocklist looks good as is, but has room for more fish if you are so inclined.

Jawfish have big mouths be careful of what might fit in them. But you need some wrasse for sure.

I wouldn't worry about pearly jaws eating anything on your list, they stay small.

Wrasses that wont compete with the mandarins would be flasher or fairy wrasses if you are so inclined.

Thanks for the advice. I will have to get a build thread started very soon. The tank is wet and has cycled. My coral will be arriving in the next 3 weeks or so. My good friend Zack (nanofins) has been babysitting my coral for over a year and a half. He is the best!
