Fish question

Saw this guy in a LfS today. Idiot worker told me it was a grouper. Like yeah no. I did some digging and saw it was a sand hopper blenny.

Anyone know anything about these guys behavior wise? The quick search I did in the store says peaceful but some sites say they get like 9 inches, LA says like 5.

Anyone have one? It looks like a super cool fish and I was looking at adding it but didnt want to get it knowing not much about it and it seems like its not a super common fish people keep.

Very interesting looking fish for sure. It looks healthy, just wanted to do more digging to see if it was a good edition. Seems how LfS literally said it was super aggressive and was basically a grouper… gotta love LFS workers

Dude I just stared at him and was like “a grouper” he was like yep! I just started laughing and was like dude I have a grouper, that is the farthest thing from a grouper!!! He was like no it really is a grouper. I was like yeah okay buddy. He turned bright red and left

I totally looked at my boyfriend and was like I dont know what the heck that is but its not a grouper!!! So I googled sand hopper goby and found it. Like its a kind of blenny brah. he was like no its a grouper and its aggressive! I just was like okay Im done

I have had bad track record with blennies. They were all (censored). I stopped keeping these overly peaceful (aggressive) fish.

Im not sure about that species. If it were in my tank. It would just attack everything to get all the food.

Yeah I didnt get him cause I didnt know enough about him to justify it but one thing I knew right away was it was no grouper

Lol no. It was with a smith blenny and a niger trigger. It wasnt labeled at all! This is also the same store I had the unicorn tang hitch hike from when they gave me a rock that the fish I did buy was hiding in!

Aiptasia is actually a genus, not a species. There are a variety of aiptasia , so me are larger than the others

Lol if its aggressive like that it would be fine in my tank! But I agree, its listed as peaceful and then aggressive. I didnt get it because I was like what the heck is this fish. But knowing that its aggressive like that it would totally be fine in my tank. I would just be worried he might be a snack for Ivar with his body shape… or Bonnie. She has a thing for sand dwelling fish. Loves to eat them
