Hey guys.

Just wondering if this stocking list would be ok?

Current stock:

1 ocellaris clownfish
1 regular firefish
1 diamond goby
1 springeri damsel
1 starry blenny
2 skunk cleaner shrimp
2 hermit crabs
1 emerald crab

Yet to be added/future plans:

1 one-spot foxface
1 royal gramma
1 yellow coris wrasse

Optional if i have room afterwards:

2-3 PJ cardinalfish

If you have questions about my current equipment ill be glad to answer all questions. I just want to make sure all fish will be okay together in this 75 gallon.

Foxface get super big. I had to take one out of my 120 gallon tank because it got too big. If you don’t mind rehoming it when it grows then go for it. An alternative I would suggest would be a tomini tang. They stay on the smaller side.

Id be adding the one-spot version of the foxface. I know they still grow up to 8 inches. The reason ive been trying to avoid tangs for now is their abilities to fight off ich. I heard they are super susceptible to it.

I’d definitely add a second ocellaris clownfish to form a pair. Definitely enough space not to cause a problem.
Maybe but my LFS advised against trying to put another clownfish in now because its unlikely they would pair unless added together. What do you think?

Really any fish is susceptible to ich. Just make sure you source it from somewhere you try if you don’t have a qt set up. Observe the fish in the store. Ask how long it’s been there and make sure it’s been eating. I’d choose a small tang over a foxface but that’s just me.

My last tank almost 2 years ago before this one.....asap as soon as i dropped a tomini in, it started tearing up my diamond goby. It was so hard to get it back out.

Just make sure it’s the same breed of clown fish and it’s smaller than the one you have. When they get bigger they transition to female and 2 females will not get along.

Never heard of tomini being violent. Some fish are known for being bullies. Tomini is not one of them.

I wonder if my wife still has the video on her phone.....but my LFS did not believe me either. I had to show the saltwater manager there the video before they would take the tomini back.

Add a small one. It’ll be just fine. In my experience it’s best to add them at different sizes anyways.

Foxface gets too big. If you want a larger fish I’d get a Tomini, Squaretail, or White Tail Tang. I’d add a second Clownfish to form a pair, Pajama Cardinals are pair forming once older and don’t change sex, I’d get just 1 if you want any.

(2) Clowns
(1) Red Firefish
(1) Diamond Goby
(1) Springer’s Damsel
(1) Starry Blenny
(1) Royal Gramma
(1) Yellow Wrasse

+

(1) Tomini / Squaretail / White Tail Tang

+

(1) PJ Cardinalfish (maybe)

I’d add a dwarf Angel of some kind but with 9-10 fish you’re basically full IMO.

Ill stick with just the 1 clownfish, and then try the tomini again. And instead of adding the pjs i will try a dwarf angel. Do you think that would be an ok adjustment?

1 Oscrellis clownfish
1 royal gramma
1 red firefish
1 diamond goby
1 yellow wrasse
1 springers damsel
1 starry blenny
1 dwarf angel
1 tomini tang

9 fish in total.

I think for now im just going to leave the clownfish solo. My skunk cleaners are already spawning so much every 1-2 weeks. Free foods lol.

Will the clownfish be unhappy by itself?
Who knows. It’s really cool to watch them pair up though. The male will dance like he’s being electrocuted

Lmaoooo....i would really need to be confident in the utmost quality of the baby clownfish.....because last time i had them they died of clownfish disease. Same tank as a red firefish and that firefish is still here today. So idk 🤷‍♂️ im not really trusting the whole buy a baby clownfish idea.

You definitely can added another ocellaris clownfish. I did about six months ago or so. I added a tiny clownfish for my existing clownfish who I have had for about 13 years. The new fish was captive bred while my old girl was wild caught. They paired up pretty much straight away.

As others said, make sure it’s small, like an inch or smaller.

You could consider adding a different colour, like a black and white fish if you already have an orange and white fish.
