Fish Stocking Question

Im new and this forum is so huge I dont know if this is the right place to ask this.

Ive got a 20 long tank, currently with a Coral Beauty and a melanurus wrasses.

Am I overstocking?

I wouldn't say you are over stocking. I would say you are miss-stocking. Both of those fish would do better in a larger tank.

If they are both very small they may do ok for awhile but they will "outgrow" your tank fairly quickly. The small tank will likely cause the angel to become aggressive and both fish will likely be stressed.

I recommend going to a website like http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+16+438&pcatid=438 to see what fish might be more appropriate for your system.

I would actually say theyre both at their max size according to that website, maybe off by a quarter inch.

Every fish is different so I won't make predictions on how the fish would do long term in your system. Just don't be surprised if the CB attacks any new fish you add to the system. They are one of my favorite fish though, so you have excellent taste!

Yea i know first hand that all fish are different. But yea man Coral Beauty is truly a beauty.

Imo, your tank is a nano, coral beauty n melanurus wrasse are not nano fishes. Liveaquaria has a nano section which got a whole lot of interesting fishes to choose from

Both are pretty active fish so would likely benefit from more swimming space.
