rain water is not pure H20. Pure H20 is not typically found in nature, only in analytic chemical laboratories and some factories. Carbon Dioxide from the atmosphere is absorbed by water molecules and and turns into carbonic acid, which is found in all rainwater. It is slightly acidic, but typically not harmful to most creatures/plants on Earth. Other chemicals can make a stronger acid in rainwater and thus be harmful.

Just ordered a new 180 gallon tank, the one in this build thread is way too scratched for my liking... not looking forward to moving the old one out, heavy as all heck!

Yup, I personally know how heavy it is!!! Mine is a AGA 180 ;)

So is the new one going to be glass or acrylic?

Glass, no fan of acrylic toooo soft and easy to scratch, and scratches make my OCD:crazy: go off the chart! I see a scratch and would want to buff it out, buff it out, buff it out.... :shocked: lol

Skimmer time...

After several months of investigating and researching the skimmer/s that I wanted to go with for my system and looking at many many different choices, options, and getting feedback from everyone on Reef2Reef, I finally settled on a skimmer that I felt fills my needs and while it might not be a name brand that some would buy I think it's a perfect fit for what I'm planing.

I want to take a minute and send a special Thank You to my friends at saltysupply.com these guys took the time to answer all my stupid little questions (they even called the manufacture for me to get answers) and give me their professional opinion on a few choices of skimmers, this made my final decision easy and my skimmer is on its way I even got a surprise upgrade to Tuesday delivery from UPS's originally scheduled delivery of Wednesday.

Plus with the pending "Blizzard" in the northeast, I might not have the new skimmer until end of week:frusty:

Hope you northeastern's have those generators fueled up and on standby!
