I am remodeling a room where we will be putting an Innovative Marine 200EXT tank set-up. The subfloor is concrete, as this room once upon a time was a garage. The floor remodel is leveling the current floor and installing radiant floor heating. This is adding 6" to the floor height (10 mil vapor barrier, 2" foam board, radiant floor heating and then 4" of concrete) but it will give me a level floor for my tank. I am trying to decide on the type of flooring to install in the room. The rest of the house has hardwood flooring, but I do not want to add 2-3" more in height to add sleepers. I am mostly concerned with salt spray, water spills and humidity in the room. What type of flooring do you have or wish you had under your tanks? Pleae note that the fish tank is the highlight of the room, image is my vision given to the contractors. I am excited to get this started since the tank has been sitting waiting to be set-up since January!

Mine are not on concrete but sit on laminate flooring. It's been quite a few years with no noticable damage. I had two 180g one fresh and one salt and now have a single 330g. Room is 11x14" so not large. Most of the laminate flooring is water proof. I think technically the surface is but a flood could probably find a way under the flooring.

Perhaps tile or a concrete treatment? Laminate flooring will require a proper vapor barrier before laying the floor. LVP is an option as well.

I would go with vinyl flooring. The type that mimics hardwood flooring strips. A great product, extremely resistant to just about anything you can throw at it. Many colors, textures and plank widths to choose from.

I used LVP for my 300 gallon system, and have not noticed any issues. I reckon with sand, rock, water, stand, glass, and equipment it’s about 3500 lbs, and we just used a mid - grade LVP with a moisture barrier backing from Lowe’s (life style brand I believe).

I’m actually super impressed with it.

Had exact same situation but with a carpet floor. Changed to ceramic plank tile and love it. Waterproof, easy to clean, very hard so scratchproof. 8 years old and still looks new
