We are upgrading our current 100g to a 200g innovative marine 200 ext. I was curious on some opinions on the flooring beneath the tank.

Current tank is on tile, but I’m going to have to change the footprint so I was wondering if there was a better option. Was thinking maybe a sealed sheet of plywood? Maybe some type of leveling mat?

It’s on the first floor, but I’ve reinforced the subfloor with 6 jack posts tied together with beams.

Thanks!

"Better" how were you imagining? Tile should be ideal IMO....just be mindful of the PSI limit of the tile.

As long as you don't put the tank up on feet (which will concentrate the load) I doubt there would be any issue.

Agreed.

I’m actually running into a similar issue but the tiles I have a a slate texture stone, so they aren’t super flat and even. The tank would require leveling feet most likely 6-8 of them total to even have a chance at being level on the tile.

Shimming would be a better alternative IMO.
