In other news... I have two leopard wrasse (Macropharyngodon meleagris). I thought that the larger one may have been ill due to color. Her colors are muted in areas. But I realized she is transitioning to male. Her face is becoming green and red.

Not me likely ever... Arizona - I'd have to drive to California or Texas and neither is within what my wife would consider driving distance.

Pictures!
I just tried with my iphone. All blurry. She knows when I have one at the tank and hides. She zips like a bat out of hell and hides.

Fishface, that is so cool. I also have a log book. It may be a little older than yours and I didn't really test anything. 😎

I see I had all sorts of problems then and only had "people" medications. No real test kits, but a lot of dead fish. 😳

Nice Diana , I wish I could do this . I take the last readings and adjust by that . Then throw it away . Always keeping the last readings .
Thank you for the compliment! I see others with electronic display panels that shows Kh, Ca, PO4, NO3 etc. I think those are from Trident. I look at the Trident system and can never figure out what I need to buy to see those readings. I could careless about the other features on the Trident. I'm getting lazy as I age. Some things are such a drag to do.

I had added 4 TBSP of GFO to the reactor on May 27th. It didn't have any effect on the PO4. I think I'll need to increase it when I change out the carbon/gfo mix in 3 weeks. My test acro isn't liking the high PO4.

Are you still running the 90 gal? BRS calculator recommends 14 tbsp of generic GFO for a 90. (This would be different if using granular or high-capacity GFO.) I usually use 1/2 recommended with good (but slow) results.

150 gallon...Had to look up which BRS GFO I have. Didn't know there is a high capacity version. I have the regular one. I will take it slow with increase by an additional TBSP in 3 weeks (total 5 TBSP mixed in with carbon).

I get the feeling you know this already, but just in case: If you mean you will be replacing 4 spent tbsp with 5 fresh, then great! Keep in mind that over time, GFO adsorption capacity depletes. So if you intend on adding 1 tbsp in three weeks to what is already in the reactor, you could effectively be running less capacity than you have today as the 4 tbsp in there today gradually stop working.
Let your PO₄ number guide you, but don't wait too long to add. I test PO₄ every four days while trying to reduce it. If I didn’t move the needle in four days, I'll add more to the used (but not depleated) GFO, and test again in another four days. After three weeks of this I will discard and replace the oldest GFO (I keep each addition in seperate filter bags; since you use a reactor, you'll need to adapt this approach to do something similar). Slow reduction is what you want, but moving too conservatively could end up being a frustrating waste of time and GFO. Ask me how I know!
