Howdy!!! How is everyone? I was having R2R separation anxiety. I left for our condo in Cape Coral Florida on Tuesday night. My youngest gets moved into her dorm on Sunday. She will be a freshman. She was all hung-ho to attend college in FL until Wednesday morning and is having anxiety from being so far away from home (NJ). She’ll be in Tallahassee, FL which has no direct flights from Newark NJ, Kennedy airport, LaGuardia or Philly. Tallahassee is located in the northern west FL and takes 6 hours with connection(s) to Newark airport. Our FL condo is 8 hours drive southwest from the college. Hopefully her anxiety stops soon.

In other news…my boys back home in NJ told me my AluFab stand for my new 150g has arrived. I need to get the stand put together before the 3 boys leave for college. I need their muscles. I’ll have 3 days to put the stand together, and get them packed for college.

Fun times!!!!

Started yesterday to slowly move some rock out of the 40b. I have about 90-100 lbs of live rock between the DT and the sump. I didn’t see any brittle worms while handling the rock yesterday…with gloves of course. This morning I woke to this sight. Brown areas are worms 😳

How do I get rid of the worms that are visible without wasting 25 gallons of new salt water? If I suck them out with a return pump will the impeller get clogged?

Do the old stocking trap thing.....I'm dating myself, pantyhose thing! Put some nice food in a pantyhose leg and hold the open end open using whatever....a cut piece of a soda or water bottle works. The bristle worm crawls into the opening, into the panty hose and now, because of it's bristles getting caught in the pantyhose, can't get out.

You could get a siphon like the use on toilets. Something like this

Maybe a little low tech but I've always just used long tweezers. If you check every few hours you get most of them, then the stocking trap works really well for get the rest of them.

I'd say that is about average. I pulled at least that many out of a 40 breeder one day. You get into a rhythm and it is kind of satisfying. It doesn't take as long as it seems it would.

Those little nasty buggers are gone from 10 lbs. of rock. I have about 80 more lbs. to take out of the DT and sump still. Hope to get that done by tomorrow. If not then it will have to wait until next week. Wednesday 5:00 AM I'm headed to Newark airport to Fort Myers airport. It's parents weekend already at my daughter's university. I feel like I was just there.

I just got notifications that @premiumaquatics delivery of my ATI T5 hanging kit has arrived. 🥳

We got to Cape Coral home on Wednesday. Yesterday we drove north 8 hours FSU. I got tackled by a student playing catch. I fractured my foot.

Today is frat parties before the game. The first frat has the largest house in the country.

Sorry to hear about the foot! Are you in a boot or are they going to cast it?

That’s a bummer about the foot. Sending healing vibes.

In a boot. They wanted to cast but I pleaded for the boot. I’ll have my Dr look at it when I get back to NJ

Hopefully it's not too much pain. Those boots tend to help a lot.
