The ink only 2.4 ghz. Makes it useless. Might as just use heaters built in temp controller at that point.
The inkbird works just fine without WiFi. I have one and I would never connect it to my network. Just set things on the controller. It is still a good controller and I prefer to have the control and the heating element in separate housings.

That is a different G it stands for WiFi generation. GHz is the radio band used for transmission.
No offense, Tom, but the "G" on cell phones has nothing to do with WiFi. It is the generation of cellular technology.

Btw - it is GHz. Not G.

True. However....

Someone forgot to inform Verizon.

gotta watch those g's!

the "G" assosiated with the LTE signal does indeed represent "generation". Each successive generation using advancements in time/frequency division as well as quadrature amplitude modulation models/ orthogonal frequency division multiplexing etc to cram ever more bits into each khz/millisecond. 5G also coincided with the release for use of higher frequency channels, like 28Ghz, the CBRS spectrum in 3.5Ghz and others.

The 5G wifi, refers to the spectral allocation of the channels, 5 being in the 5.8Ghz public use spectrum and 2 being in the 2.4Ghz spectrum.

wifi5, 6, 7 etc is going to be the generational version of wifi, similar to the LTE stuff above.

@steveschuerger, if you want to connect your old-school 2.4g wifi stuff, get a dual-band wifi extender that will connect to your landlords 5ghz network and re-broadcast it at 2.4.

My little 10 lbs of KP rock showed up earlier. Forgot to put heater in so now I’m waiting for it to hit 71-72 F to put in tank. Even not WiFi connected the Inkbird is still better than built in controls of the heater.
Are you quarantining it? I love KP rocks.

Got a dual band on sale this morning. Arrives tomorrow

Happy Sunday everyone! It's snowing here in NJ. I have about 2 feet of snow. It started snowing around 6 AM and it's forecasted to end around 11 PM.

I had won 3 torches last month. The morning they were scheduled to arrived I ran out to PetCo to purchase a new QT. The night before I was disinfecting a tank I use for QT and cracked it. Well I have been fighting to kill the coral boring spionid worms in the trunks of the torches. I have used Coral Rx Pro, and Tropic Marin Coral Clean. The worms just laughed at me. I see that https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/p...in-injection-1-sterile-solution-50-ml-1252311 sells a bottle of ivermectin for animals. I wonder if I can use this product to try and kill the worms? I can get a syringe from my local pharmacy to extract the liquid.

What are your thoughts on killing them?

If you didn’t have bad luck you would have no luck at all! Me personally would not put those in my freshly set up sterile display. You have worked so hard to get it to this point. I’d find someone in your club willing to take on the rehab maybe do a frag swap 3 for 1.

Yes you 100% can. Ivermectin works awesome to kill them, ive used it on some sps with great results. I would highly recommend removing them and doing this in another container though as it will nuke most of the other crustaceans in you tank too. Mix up it up at about 12 drops/quart or 48 per gallon from a 1ml syring with a needle tip. Let the corals sit in that dip for about and hour, stirring occasionally and making sure the temperature doesn't change dramatically. Rinse them in tank water afterward and then readd to the display. The only downside is that there will be dead worms hanging out of the stems for a bit, until your wrasse finds them.

My thoughts are that i hate them and absolutely kill them with fire :)

I originally had two quarantine tanks setup. One contained KP Aquatics live rock and one for the torches. When the KP live rock was done with it QT, I placed all but 2 baseball sized live rock into my DT. The 2 rocks stayed in the QT and I placed the torches with the 2 rocks. I am assuming the 2 rocks are now needing to be reset because it would have the boring spionid worms???

Never had torches and I surely don't want boring spionid worms
