I've got a Jebao SW-2, Tunze 6040 and Apex Classic coming in the mail today to install on the tank.

Have you still got the sw2 was thinking if getting it for my evo but have seen lots of back feedback of it breaking? Your tank is goals by the way and I'm thinking of stretching my budget to get a AI prime and you have 2! Jealous lol

The SW2 I got didn't work with my Apex module, so I returned it and bought a second SW-4. I'll run them one on either side of the back wall with them turned down.

The AI prime is awesome, i'm actually adding two T5 bulbs, one to either side of the Primes (LOL)

I don't see any reason not to get the non HD version used on this small of a tank [I think the only major difference is that the individual channels can't be set to >100%]

I've seen them listed on the forums for as little as $130 with a mount included (non HD)

Thanks ! Yep will hopefully get a prime soon, can't beat the colour the primes produce for this tank.

Unfortunately I noticed last night my female clown has pop eye, am just going to hope she gets better in the next few days.

I will upload a pic of my tank in the next few days just to show its nothing like yours, mind you its only been about 4 months how long have you had yours?!;)

Tank has been set up for almost 2 months, transferred the rock over from my Biocube when I sold it all off on Craigslist, but everything else is 2 months old.

ALK 7.9
Phosphate 0.20
Nitrate 10
Calcium 490

Got my Apex installed and wires ran, added two t5s with geisman pure actinic bulbs

Got a temporary ATO container to the side of the stand, my 1 1ml/min BRS doses are far from fast enough to use as ATO so I'm looking for a container that I can fit my maxi jet in and also fit under my stand.

I've got a phosban 150 reactor with some gfo in it to bring down my phosphates

I've got two jebao sw4's running on the Apex

Here's my tank as far... still have the stock light but purchased a inline remote drummer meant for led strips which I find helpful for turning on and off the light so it didn't startle the fish. It also makes photos look nice be Vail use I have also added a strip of 12v blue leds which really ain't waterproof so have got a lot dimmer to the point that there is no difference to the tank when the lights are at full brightness but adds a little but when dimmed, cameras pick it up a lot more than in person tho

I've done my best to get a photo of the pop eye, haven't really improved as of yet.

Thanks, no I haven't started a build thread yet, would you say I should?, only ask as things don't change that much in my tank at the moment as have exams rn and don't have much moneylmao

Really like your scape and corals look great! think I might eventually change my rocks as have never really liked how it just a blob of rock in middle it makes finding places for corals a little tricky especially as haven't got room anywhere to have it as like a peninsula so only view the tank from the front

Started dosing ALK and Calcium with my Apex and BRS 1.1 dosing heads. First dose was the

dose morning of May 7, followed by 8pm test (Five 1 min pump activations)
dose morning of May 8, followed by 8pm test (Four 1 min pump activations)
dose morning of May 9, with upcoming 8pm test (Three 1 min pump activations)

I am expecting that Three minutes on the pump to maintain ~8.3-8.5 ALK which is going to be my target.

My system has tended to run clean, so I have also implemented

a 9 hour lit refugium in the rear chambers
Every Other Day Red Sea Reef Energy 1 ml/each [for now] - scheduled on Apex
Twice per week (every 3 days) spot feed Reef Roids/Reef Chili mix - scheduled on Apex
Every 5 days (or as needed) replace PolyFilter in media rack - scheduled on Apex
Every Sunday trim/remove chaeto - scheduled on Apex
Every 6 weeks replace carbon in media rack - scheduled on Apex

I measured my LUX today:

Settings when measured -
upload_2018-5-11_16-17-59.png

Tank Setup -

Tank placement.png

The AI Primes are 5" from the water surface [4" from measurements]
The T5's are Geismann super Actinic bulbs [no idea how old they are - bought used] 5 1/2" from the water surface

The Non-HD Prime is centered 6" off the back wall, and the HD Prime is centered 13 1/2" off the back wall

Here are the LUX numbers, retrieved by HDE Digital Luxmeter LX1010B

LUX readings 051018.png

The Prime HD sits at around 6" in to the front of the tank, and seems to be much more powerful than the Non-HD Prime. These are linked as parent/child in the AI software, but I may need to separate them and copy the profile over to the Non HD, but up the intensities to match the HD Prime?

Any help, suggestions or insight is greatly appreciated!

I've also been having pH spikes daily. I'm not running a skimmer, have moderate ripples/waves on the surface of the water, and have water dropping from poly filter to carbon in the first chamber of the back wall. No pH scrubber, windows have been open on and off the past few days, but even today when the windows were closed. I got a pH "spike" to 8.32.

Alkalinity is dosed in 1-1.2ml increments throughout the night:

upload_2018-5-11_17-18-20.png

My Refugium light is on from 9:00 pm to 5:00 am:

upload_2018-5-11_17-19-6.png

Calcium is dosed the same amount as Alkalinity, but in the afternoon:

upload_2018-5-11_17-19-56.png

Do you reckon that this is just due to the corals growing and consuming ALK?

upload_2018-5-11_17-22-42.png

The pH peaks plateau at around 5:00 each day [about when the wife and I arrive at home]

upload_2018-5-11_17-25-40.png

Is a recurring pH at 8.3-8.33 something to worry about?

I'm also unsure about the pH swings/ranges, getting down to 7.86-7.95 at night.

Still having issues with low pH after closing up the apartment and running the AC. Have a skimmer [Fluval skimmer] coming tomorrow from Amazon.

I'll be putting it in with the skimmer air intake coming through a TLF reactor filled with CO2 scrubber media.

I also switched my lights over to a 150w metal halide. I have it currently 11" off of the waters surface and here are the LUX meter readings. I'm not sure if I should immediately lower it, or slowly lower it assuming that LED and Metal Halide lighting would be read by the LUX meter differently.
