I bought this flame angel about 6 weeks ago from a lfs. He was eating and looked great. Just to be safe I put him in a observation tank for 4 weeks, he ate fine and seemed perfectly healthy so I put him in my main tank, the only other fish in there is a pair of clowns. He spent the first 2 weeks doing great and eating like crazy and also constantly picking at things(possibly some coral) Yesterday I noticed he was hiding alot and not eating much, his fins were also a little bit torn up. I thought mabey the clowns had roughed him up but I never saw any aggression. So I removed the clowns to see if the angel would be more active and eat again and now he looks like this.
I have pit him in a qt with kanaplex thinking this is a bacterial issue, any input or advice would be great!

Clowns are being more and more exposed for the damage and havoc they cause. They are territorial and I dont recommend them being a first fish but rather last addition. This flame is a victim of aggression and has a chance to heal if you continue to isolate it. Tp prevent infection, I recommend using Seachem Neoplex for at least 7-10 days

Agreed - the clowns did this. They are very mean and sneaky - they’ll behave while you’re watching them.

Because of the risk of secondary infection, you will want to treat with antibiotics (watch the ammonia levels)

Yes, the clowns. I had this happen with a pair of Onyx percs with Flames. Luckily I caught them in the act before real damage and removed the flames.
