I really love the flame hawkfish and want one. I'm going to have two tanks, one is a reef that's got some small shrimp, so that's out. The other tank is going to have a trigger, puffer and dwarf lionfish. I'm thinking an appropriately sized hawkfish shouldn't have a problem with those guys but wanted some others' opinions.

I have a flame hawk with my small preds, but the lions in my venom tank would eat him with no prob. A full grow fuzzy will reach 6.5" and be very robust with a big mouth. The thing is most people never keep them that long.

I hadn't thought about mature size yet, so that's good to know. I'm not fully committed to any of them yet, the lionfish will get chosen over the flame hawkfish

You can click my name and "find all threads" and you'll find tons of info and photos on predatory type fish. I have 3 predatory tanks(90, 40B, bc29) with 13 venomous fish from the scorp. family.
