My flame bta hadn't been looking so flash for a few days so I gave it an inspection and found an asterina star on it. I peeled it off but the nem is still withdrawn. What are some things I could try to save him. Do they respond well to iodine dips?

The amount of cyano on the glass suggests some excess nitrates or phosphates. Clearing that up could help. I've had starfish go after anemones that were about to kick it, so the asterina was probably just sniffing around for a meal. For BTAs strong lighting + clean water is usually a fix-all, unless they are new or bleached. Good luck.

Hmm that might be it. The nem is in an acrylic breeder box I made but there isn't enough flow through it. Needs more holes I think. I have two other nems in it that are doing great all 3 have been in there for about a month.
