Hi guys!

Using a fleece roll filter for the first time. I installed it 2 days ago and I’m very happy with the amount of waste it is pulling out of the water, but I have noticed that I am unable to tune my skimmer anymore.

Fleece roller is installed on the overflow and then flows towards the next chamber in my sump which has the protein skimmer inside. The water level in the skimmer area stays constant but the level in the skimmer is dropping to almost bottom and overflowing a couple minutes later. there is no stability. I have noticed it is triggered when the fleece roll is full and advancing to the next part.

Any experience with this? Is this a known issue?

Fleece rollers are so good at pulling out stuff that your skimmer is going to be a whole lot less effective. You are pulling everything out that it normally pulls out.

So I suppose my skimmer becomes an aeration machine at this point? 🤪
