Float switches inconsistency

Hi guys,

I installed my 2 float switches via a Y cable.
One of them seems not working properly.
Failing to activate one of the dosing pump when water level is low.
I restart my Doser 2.1 work for a sec and then stop. Still not responding even I toggle the float switch by hand. The other one is working well.

Any idea?

Couple question:
1. Are you using the GHL Y cable?
2. Have you flipped the floats between the Y ports, to troubleshoot if this is an issue with the sensor itself, or the Y-cable/port/programming ?
3. Can you post a screenshot of your programming please.

Yes the Y cable is GHL.
I switch around the 2 float switch and it seems its the the physical switch that is giving me the problem.
Took it out and remount it. Now its working. But I will have to monitor it since it was once working then not again.

I had what I thought was not working floats when I set mine up over 6 months ago. I took it out and looked it over. Found it was working by hand so I reinstalled it. It has been working ever since. I am sure mine was some sort of user error.

If you have a voltage meter you can set it to ohms and see if there is conductance through the float switch to determine if its just the float.

Yes I have one.
I took the float off by removing the clip. Did a visual check and set it back.
Its working now. Im just suspeculating that some how, there could be some air or the surface tensil of the water and the plastic
material that does not allow the float to sink properly to trigger it.

I will keep monitoring and doing the ATO job.
I have mark a line with marker to see its consistency.

Do you guys reckon a optical version would run more flawless?

If you perform regular maintenance both should work equally (barring a snail getting into a float).

The optical does allow you to be a little lazier in maintenance IME

I run 2 floats and 2 optics. I don't think I notice a difference. It is possible the optic has a slightly lower tolerence than the float. Meaning if you are doing ato the optic may fill the ro/di more frequently. This is how mine is set up.
A note for the floats is to make sure there aren't any magnets within a couple inches of the float or it will look like the float has moved but the magnet will not let the switch move internally.
