This Q tank was getting very yellow water with disolved organics until i added a piece of TBS live rock and a red-orange encrusting spong. Raised up the calcareous green macros to get more light.

Wow, quite the culture station there.
3 each 750 ml jars of 6 different algae gets me 350 ml from 4 or 5 of them per day, more than i need right now but I want to keep them in exponential growth mode. Except Prophyridium, have not figured out what that one needs yet.

Zooplankton cultures : Apocyclops copepod, Tigriopus copepod, Brachionus rotifer, Artemia

Pretty impressive. It's probably a bit of work in itself to grow all that food, but having it always is probably a heck of a convenience and cost savings.

plankton culture update:
Isochrysis and Thalassiosira grow much faster for me than Nanochloropsis, Dunaliella or Tetraselmis.
Apocyclops doing much better than Tigriopus

Display tank up, just added 2 species of sea grass.
at least 7 bivalves,
4 thorny clams purchased
one orange mantled hitchhiker on TBS live rock,
one black mantled hitchhiker on TBS live rock
one bivalve growing on dry rock, so dont know where it came from, looks almost like a pen shell
6 mollies, 4 mutts and a pair of green sailfin
8 baby mollies of unknown parentage
