I would LOVE to see pictures of your set ups! I have a Nuvo 40 gal, and I am wanting to learn about other add-on flow options. Anyone want to show off their tank with pictures?

WOW! SO MUCH color! Love it! So is your only flow the pump that runs on the side? My nuvo is stock with the two “nozzles” on the back wall. I’ve put a “spin stream” on each of them, but nothing seems to move a whole lot.

It is crazy with fluorescent color, thanks. I specifically tried to pick corals that fluoresce under blue leds.

I have the big wavemaker you see on the side, but there are 2 smaller ones as well. One is at the back on the same side and one on the other side at the back. I also have my return running close to the max my drain can handle and it is split into 4 nozzles, 2 on each side of the overflow.

This tank is INSANE [emoji7] it's just become my wallpaper [emoji16]

Thanks a lot. I really appreciate the compliment. I wish you could see it in person!

It's been a very long journey. I've been in this hobby for 15 years and I've had 10 different tanks. Half of those 15 years I had 4 tanks running at once. This tank is only about 18 months old and really my only tank. Shortly after I started it I made the decision to go for the corals (zoas, lps, sps even anemones) that fluoresce the best under blue leds. And I even upped the amount of blue over the tank with a 2nd fixture.

I'm an OK photographer with OK cameras. But even the photos you see don't come close to doing this tank justice. At night, in a dark room, with just blue and violet leds, this tank looks totally alien!

Here is a close up of the RFAs and some of their babies.

Wow that is crazy! How old is your tank? I finally have a day off and I will check out the build thread today! Thanks!!

I have an IM 40 that's in the process of cycling, so I can't comment on coral movement yet, or if they like it. I have the IM Wavelink set at 3 of 9, and one spin stream nozzle. I can't keep the Fiji pink sand in one place when the wave link is set any higher then 3, so I believe there's a lot of movement. The one spin stream that I have gives me awesome surface agitation. I was thinking of getting another Wavelink, but at this point I don't think I need it.

I made the tank about 3-4 years ago to sit beside my 120g tank. The 40g was a macro algae display tank.

2 years ago I downsized and sold off 3 tanks and just kept the 40g cube. I did have a few nice zoas I kept along with all my RFAs. Then about a year ago I decided to make it the most fluorescent tank I could and reset the rockscape up on an egg crate platform so I had close to the max rock space I could have and at the same time have about 90% of the tank open sand (although 80% of it is under the platform). But the sea stars, sea cucumber, flame scallop, tiny feather dusters and spaghetti worms seem to love it under there!

This is what it looked like under normal midday lighting a six months ago.
