I cannot speak to any competitors flow meters, however ours utilize measurement cells based on industrial applications and long standing flow measurement principles - we are pretty happy with them. I personally run one to keep my Reefer 450 running quiet, with a set of media reactors on a manifold.

Here is a E+H video detailing the Vortex Flow Meter principal.

Thanks for the video!! :)
How often do they need to be cleaned?
Do you know how much head pressure I will add if I put a 1” meter on 11/2” pipe?
Thanks

I have one running for 15 months, without cleaning, no noticeable deviation of flow measurement. Of course, occasional cleaning and maintenance will keep the doc away for long time ;)

Regarding the head pressure, I would say it'll add a little bit, but probably not detrimental, of course this is depending on the pump and flow requirements you are looking to satisfy. You can always install the flow meter in bypass mode, and ever use a smaller one.
The controller has capabilities to set bypass, say you break a 2" pipe into 2x 1" pipe, then the 1" / 9000lph meter carries 50% of your flow...

Thanks for the pictures!! Do you have any of your ProfiLux? Would like to see how you have it set up.

What would I need to setup 4 flow meters? Would they all plug into the main box or would I need an expansion box?

You can connect up to 4 flow sensors to the ProfiLux 4.

2 Sensors would connect to the on-board Level 1/2 port and the other 2 can be connected to an expansion card with LEVEL ports. The expansion card itself can be fitted into the P4 housing, taking up no more space and requiring no extra module. :)

So the P4 will support 6 flow meters if you add 2 cards? Is there a limit to the number of flow meters you could add with expansion boxes?

Ed, what type of system are you running that you could need 6 flow meters? Just curious

Ed,

4 Max, by what I can tell in the software. Vinny@GHLUSA can answer to make sure.

1- Return Pump
1- Calcium Reactor
1- Reefgium
1- Media Reactor

Are where I currently have my four.

@Marco@GHLUSA Where did you buy the unions? Finding BSPP fittings here in the US has been a lot harder than I thought it would be. The Neptune flow sensors come with unions. Maybe GHL should do the same thing or at least sell them on your website.

@Ditto will the unions for the 1” Neptune flow sensors work on the GHL flow sensors?
