I am being told by the LFS that 2 MP40es's will be enough flow for my tank. Can I get some opinions I was going to get 2 MP60es's. I don't want to have to upgrade in a couple of months. My tank dimensions are 52x30x30. I will be doing mostly sps and lps. This is a new build that im trying to get right the first time instead of wasted money down the road (even though I know that's almost impossible).

2 mp40s woukd get u started but u may want more in the future. Especially with alot of sps. If it were me id do 1 mp60 until your ready to do another 60.. 1 60 will do great in there but 2 would solve any flow issues.

I may get the 2 60's and play with the settings. Thanks for the help.

2 40s is plenty of flow for a 200g tank. No worries there. Each has a setting flow between 1000 and 3200gph each, so if you jacked um both up that would be 6400gph for the 2, and thats what I run in my 8' long tank.

I wasnt impressed with 2 40s on a 6' 220.. 1 mp60 on the other hand was plenty. Only problem was if u were getting good enough flow on the far side you were blowing over rocks on the close side with 1.. 2 mp60s antisync about 75%.. acro heaven

+2 on two mp 60's. had two on my 220 custom 72x30x24 and had the at around 40% and they rocked. no settling anywhere and with the wide flow pattern on them it was awesome. i am going with two 60's on my new 200 deep dimension build. more is better. sps grew like weeds with more flow.

Thanks for all the help. I want to get this build right. I am at least going to get the 2 mp60's. I am still going to consider the other options mentioned. I still want to look at return options which may be a different topic, but for the most part I see at least 1000-1200 gph to get surface skimming removed.
