All flow from one end on standard tank

Does anyone have all their powerheads to one side of a standard ( non peninsula) center overflow tank? I’ve been changing my flow around a lot recently mostly with the standard pumps on each side of the aquarium, offset from each other, blowing across the 4’ tank. I also have three powerheads along the back wall so a total of 5 pumps in a 4x2 sps tank. I have two Jebao sow-20 that should be ample flow especially since all my acros are frag-mini colony size. I’ve been thinking about putting just the two big SOWs on the left hand side of the tank and run them in the alternating pattern to where the front one will come on for determined amount of time, and then turn off and the back one comes on creating a gyre motion around the front and back side of the rock scape. Similar to how it’s done on a peninsula when the pumps are next to the overflow. Any suggestions on that?

This is an old photo but here you can see I have two pumps on each side. One SOW-20, two SOW-8 and one Nero 5. I also have since added more rock to the back left of the tank

You could try it and see I suppose. For SPS more is better than less as long as nothing is getting constant flow hitting them. I have a 48x22x22" peninsula with 2 MP40s low on the back wall running 65% reef rest with a few nutrient transport modes added I also have 2 orca 6075 on the viewing end varying speed up to 99% and coral seem pretty happy.

I recently moved out of a 36x22x22" with the same power heads in a different configuration.
