Hi all, I have a large HOB Aquafuge 2 and am looking to upgrade its pump to get more flow going. Can anyone recommend one? Or thoughts about increasing the flow(good/bad).
Thanks in advance

I'm not sure increasing the flow through the HOB filter system is a good idea. It may well have a bad effect on the filtration ability.

How big is your tank and what is the total flow in your system?

Why not look into any of the small wavemaker pumps to increase flow?

I have a 16g RFA breeding tank with a HOB filter, an in-tank Tunze skimmer and 2 small powerheads and it works quite well.

40g breeder. I have 3 power heads in the DT, was just looking to see if adding more flow to the refugium would be. A benefit or not.

Typically, most reefers seem to feel that refugium flow is better at slower rates rather than higher rates. How big is the fuge and how often does it turn over? That is, how much flow is the return pump?
