While most are talking about treatment using prazipro (which I have also used on other fish) I decided to give this Waterlife product a try. I followed instructions on the bottle and after 10 hours I have one dead golden travelly and another which looks like fin rot.

It's been about 20 hours now and the water is murky with what seems to be the fins falling off the fish. Ammonia and NO2 levels are within range.

Both fishes dipped in fresh water for 5 minutes prior to adding medication.

I dipped the dead one in freshwater again and no more flukes coming out.

Any comments? Going to remove the surviving fish now.

I've not used that pedication, but online, the ingredients are listed as:
Acriflavine.
Malachite Green.
Piperazine Citrate

None of those are effective against external flukes. The piperazine is sometimes used to treat roundworms, but is is dosed orally in that case, and none of my references say the effectiveness extends to flukes.

Some people use acriflavine and malachite green in marine tanks, but they are primarily freshwater fish medications, and there are some toxicity issues with malachite green, depending on dosage. This toxicity is usually seen when dosed multiple times.

That said, I don't see how these ingredients would have caused the fin damage.
