Hello! I'll be posting some pictures and my progress of this 13.5 gallon nano reef! I am 100 percent a newb to reefing and I'm super excited to get this journey started. My current setup in this tank equipment wise is the stock light, return pump, and return nozzles. upgraded is the InTank chamber 1 media basket that contains in the following order, filter floss, chemo-pure elite, and nothing quite yet in that last chamber, chamber two I have removed the sponge and have a ton of rubble and some fluvial biomax for biological filtration but I do want to get marine pure ceramic gems. I only have one clown and he's tiny! he's only about 3/4" right now and he was even smaller when I got him! I do have some coral and for that I have a Duncan, super sad pulsing Xenia I'm trying to save from petco, some zoanthids; island time, Jason fox stargazer, and two unknowns I got from a friend., leather toadstool, and some others! I also have two blue legged hermits and had one Cerith but one of the crabs decided to evict him and stole his shell. I am super happy to hear what you guys think so far and I am super open to any sort of criticism, I want to improve! the only thing I'm thinking about getting extra as of now is upgrading the light to a Kessil A80 tuna blue.

Congratulations on your new adventure!

Congratulations and enjoy it! This is the first tank I started off with and it was a great learning experience. My one recommendation for you is to grab the InTank Media Baskets and ditch that sponge filter.. With the small water volume, I was battling nitrate issues until I got rid of it.

Edit: on closer read I see you have the chamber in basket 1, I recommend it for chamber 2. The skimmer is tempting, but skip it. You'll be constantly emptying it and it's a real hassle to dial in.

I did have the skimmer! Came with it and never tampered with it, good to know I should stray away from it lol

I never felt like it was worth the hassle, I opted for heavier water changes... Roughly 5gal weekly and the tank loved it. Had that little thing running for a couple of years before we bought our house and I could upgrade.

Feel free to reach out with any questions, I fondly remember that little thing and it's been living in a new home not far from me with a fellow reefer.

Will do! I’m currently doing a 2 cup water change a day and it’s been keeping everything really stable so far
