Also removed the BTA. It landed right on 2 frags of zoas, and I realized by tank is just too small. The zoas didnt respond negatively immediately, but both that were touched by it have closed up the last day and a half (2-3 days afer removing the BTA) again going to just keep an eye on them!

Lots has changed. I removed the sand.

Euphyllia died, and two Montipora pieces RTNd and they both had smaller pieces in front that still look fine:rolleyes:

I’m still super confused about alk. I did buy a Hanna checker. I was so tired of testing and retesting. Tuesday was 10.3 (from 10.5) and today it’s 10.

I had been doing two water changes but missed yesterday’s and decided to let it roll till my normal Sunday change.

Also contemplating moving to blue bucket from pro salt as the local fish store mixes up blue bucket as their salt water they offer.

Some pics , lol they always add at the top:rolleyes:

Look who I brought home today!!!

He is getting all settled in. Got him from my LFS anniversary sale.

Everything is trucking along. I have been good about not making quick rash decisions, until the other day.

Was searching for GHA cures. I didn’t feed my corals for like a week and half and it wasn’t going anywhere. So in a rush I read about peroxide and went about filling up my Kent doser three or four times and squirting it all in my tank.

Needless to say my tank looked like a topi Chico. I almost fried everything because I failed to keep reading before doing it. I bleached a few things and my mushrooms still hate me a week later, but I didn’t try and fix it. I just rode it out.

I have to say, my hair algae is gone

Who wants to help me name my clown!?!?

Give me some suggestions.

Also any advice on removing the stuff on the bottom that is too heavy for my siphon? Do I just need a larger one??

Very excited!! I got the notification and purchased a leap order Robby puffer!! Should be here Tuesday.

Still messing with flow a bit. Going to change it around again today, and also adding on my skimmer because of incoming puffer. I read they can be messy.

Domino is doing great! I’m slowly becoming happy with the tank I have and not the one I want!

My favorite ricordia that completely died after the great peroxide fiasco... I think it’s growing back from nothing!!

Acan garden! They all have lots of new heads on bottom.

My zoas seem to go through spells. They are never all happy at once. I have taken to removing the GHA by softly brushing them at night when closed. Some stay ticked... gonna ride it out.

My favorite... it also browned during the peroxide fiasco. Seems to be making a comeback!! Love nature.

This guy loves its cliff. Fastest and maybe only real grower besides scans so far.

Happy Duncan’s

My top shelf of sps is doing ok. The bottom sides that aren’t getting light has all bleached. Tried to get it in the pics. If they die I will wait and try again later.

Not sure if it’s lighting, or nutrient issue. May be wrong corals for my little guy.

Currently I’m content with see what makes it and what doesn’t and letting it ride for a while. Without the sand I read it takes at least 8 minutes this to reach maturity so I’m just trying to take it slow.

I did loose a few things over the past few weeks.

Bummed today... I ordered a leapord tobby within 1 hr of the in stock notificatoon and paid for it. It showed out of stock within 3 hrs. I passed up purchasing from another site showing 2 in stock.

I was expecting to receive my fish today and got a late evening notification last night about a shipping delay.

When I called the lady said they were on backorder. So basically they sold me a fish they didn’t have because they only got so many but must have sold more than they had.

Will never do business with them.

123 days wet!! I’m thinking things may be wrong as some things are ok and others are meh, but nothing is really growing crazy. I’m assuming it’s still just a young system and my main goal is to keep it all alive :) I have wondered if it’s my lighting, but I’m gonna wait.

I did order more cuc to hopefully knock out the little bit of hair algae I have. It wouldn’t bother me if it were not in my zoas.

Ric garden!! Some have lost their original luster, but are doing well.

Not sure what’s going on with this. I thought it was gonna be a big fast grower. It’s just kinda sat there, and recently got yellow as you can see. I think it may have been a temp swing that got it and my two cyphaestra.

Changed my lighting from one I downloaded to the Zillow AB+ from BRS. Amazing results for me!
3B686083-E423-4DD2-A3EF-69AB9C21B76A.jpeg

Things are growing well.

I ordered more clean up crew, which included several tasty snacks for my emerald crab. He better be fat and happy. 3 chitons, and 2 limpits... little devil.

Wish he liked the hair algae and green bubble algae on the bottom shelves as much.

Two more blue legs, and like 5 mini snail (forgot names) survived.

Having some issues with my shrooms. Gonna post in the other forum. I have also been struggling to get the tank fully clean.

The small nozzle doesn’t pick everything up, and the big one empties my tank in a few min.

I made a contraption with pvc and a filter sock and I’m going to use the old return pump and see if I can’t catch all this stuff that gets kicked up when I turn the pumps on.

It doesn’t naturally flow through at the top.

Enjoyed reading your build. Great to see another reefer from Houston. What LFS are you using? I've been really happy with Oceanlife so far! I have been wet now for about 9 months

I get around!! I go to all of them. I really FJW as well. I also pop into fish gallery. They are stepping their saltwater game up lately.

There is also a real gem of a store down south on the beltway. Great prices, and located in. Warehouse.

You should throw up a build thread. I stopped posting here regularly because people seemed disinterested.

I know this us an older thread, but hoping to get some feedback on the media basket. How did it fit in the first chamber? I'm thinking of buying one and I've read some posts that are saying the basket for the second chamber fits, but the basket designed for chamber one isn't fitting properly and they're having to do some modifications.

Was at a different lfs I don’t normally patron, and they had what appeared to be a lobo posted as a war coral and some other lobo esque corals next door for twice the price as war coral. The worker argued it was for sure a war coral.

So I think I got this bad boy at a little u see half off!!!

Tell me if I’m wrong...

My new war coral!

FJW and Oceanlife are my two go to's

Yeah, I went by Infinity Fish a few weeks ago. I ended up picking up a Candy Cane Coral, a Ricordea, and a nice zoa colony from Dennis today. He hooked me up pretty good, gave me a pretty good deal on all of it.

249 days in!

I have changed the light to a kessil 160. After my bubble algae / vibrant moment I stopped putting alll kinds of different foods into the aquarium.

I now feed Red Sea a and b .5 ml a day and then feed the fish / lobo every day.

I got some new fish and corals.

Mushroom garden seems to be on the come back. I lost two. They aren’t spreading out happy just yet, but two are.

One day I will take out my lenses I got and use them to take better pics... maybe when it fills out more, or I just feel froggy.
