hello, i am super new to this. I have had great success with a freshwater tank but the the saltwater is a little trickier.

Ill start from the beginning.
i have a fluval 13.5 tank.
i put in my sand and live rock
i put in my water.

the water WAS CLOUDY as ever. it began to clear up until tonight when i changed out the stock filter basket and its back to being super cloudy...

i have no idea what im doing wrong... or if im just not being patient enough.

i was thinking that maybe my sand is too fine?? i don't know, but it stressing me out.

any help would be super appreciated and i have attached a pic just to show

Check to see where your water output from the filter is going. Make sure that it’s not pointing directly at the sand.
It could also be that the sand is still settling. Mine took a little more than 24 hours for it to be clear after I added 50lbs of sand.

i turned off the output, but even still those aren't pointing at the sand.
as soon as i put the new media basket in it kicked it all back up, before that the rocks were clear

i put the water in on december 10th. so thats been 2 full days.

i know it has to settle, but why does it keep getting kicked back up?

What sand did you use?

Honestly if you just leave the pump on and let i run another 24 hours I imagine you will be fine. It took my tank about 4 days to clear up.
