We are getting ready for the Annual Florida Marine Aquarium Society Holiday Party that will take place this Saturday starting at 2PM at the Chemipure/RAD/Jellyfish Art building located at 3510 NW 53st, Fort Lauderdale Fl 33309.
We have organized the La Paella Team cooking fresh Paella with salad and rolls, plus Jeff and Buddy will be cooking two large smoked Briskets on the Traeger Grill with smoked thick cut bacon too! Plenty of food and lots of snacks for the first 100 attendees and we already have 50 people confirmed. Food and soft drinks will start to be served at 2:45 -3PM and our Guest Speaker from Mote Marine, Mr. Nick McMahon, will provide us with an in depth talk about their Coral Gene Bank operations at Mote Marine starting at 3:45pm.
We will have a Holiday Raffle with dozens of marine fish, inverts, and coral books. Plus numerous frags that you will want to win for your aquarium!
The weather is slated to be awesome with sunshine and a high of 77F. And we have confirmed with several “Old School FMAS members” that they will be attending as well and will provide us with some comments on how FMAS helped them too to become successful aquarists! ( and even Gerard Loisel will be attending, since his beloved UM team lost to Wake Forrest on Saturday…)
