July 30th, 2013 Tuesday 7pm at Miami Museum of Science.

See you guys there.

Fancy flyer is coming. Just wanted to get it out to you guys as fast as possible.

About our speaker.

Lance Ichinotsubo has been an aquarium hobbyist and professional for over 30 years. He was born and spent his childhood years in Hawaii, where he began keeping freshwater aquariums at an early age, graduating to marine aquariums in 1970. The marine tropical fish industry is Lance’s passion and has allowed him to turn his love for the ocean into a career. While working for one of the largest marine fish wholesalers in Hawaii, he became a certified scuba diver, which led to many years of professional tropical fish collecting. During his years in this industry he shipped and received marine fish to and from many exotic international locations.
In 1982, Lance moved to Las Vegas where he and his wife, Mikki, founded Rainbow Seascapes, one of the foremost marine-life dealers in the country, with clients from many states; its resort hotel and casino customers included The Mirage, Caesar’s Palace, the Tropicana, and many others. Lance and Mikki have been featured on local and national TV shows and in many national trade and business publications. They have spoken to numerous aquarium societies, taught classes and consulted for the World Wide Pet Supply Association, the University of Nevada at Las Vegas, the Rainforest Café Restaurant chain, and Big Al’s Aquarium Superstores, providing advice to curators and animal care specialists.
While pursuing his studies in water chemistry as it applies to marine aquariums, Lance moved to southern Florida, where he is currently president of Captive Seas, Inc., specializing in design, installation, and maintenance consultation for retail stores, maintenance companies, and individual clients nationally and internationally.
Lance is a founding member of the American Marinelife Dealers Association (AMDA), has been involved with the Marine Aquarium Council (MAC), and has served on the Advisory Council for the International Game Fish Association, based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. His ultimate goals are to help clients and colleagues become successful in marine aquarium-keeping and to truly make a difference in his chosen field of study.

Lance is also co-author, with Bob Goemansis, of The Marine Fish Health & Feeding Handbook.

If you've ever had a question about Marine Fish Diseases, this will be the meeting you want to attend. Lance and Mikki have a wonderful store in Pompano Beach. They are some of the nicest people in the hobby. As mentioned above Lance is an expert on marine fish disease and their store Elite MarineLife is one of the first stores i've ever seen first hand to QT the fish they sell.

Come a little early before the meeting for a chance to check out the Miami Science Museum's Pacific Reef. They generally open it up for our members before the meeting.

The museum is still in need of soft corals. If you are able to help them out, bring your coral to the meeting and ask for Skip.
